Thank you! #BigBeeryNight17

Well now the dust has settled, on another huge Big Beery Night – this year we were yet again blown away by the generosity of both the donating companies and people, but also you beer crazy folk who bid and won some unbelievable items. To refresh your memories, the list of lots is here

Here’s the final figures, we had 36 lots, each one of them sold. Raising an unbelievable €3,445.24 both in terms of winning bids, and donations.

In an extra boost, my employers Bank of Ireland Group also donated €1,250 to the Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland, bringing the grand total to €4,695.24

We are truly humbled by your generosity, each and every one of you.

#BigBeeryNight17 – Saturday 18th November

#BigBeeryNight17 – Saturday 18th November

For the third year, we’re running Big Beery Night, over the weekend from Friday the 17h November, including an auction again on the Saturday evening.

Last year we raised €2655 for the Irish Cancer Society, this year we are raising funds for Alzheimers Society of Ireland as it’s an issue close to our hearts having lost family members to this illness.

You can get a flavour of last year here , and some of the lots here

The premise is quite simple, we simply ask that over the weekend from Friday 17th November that you donate the cost of your beer (gin, wine, vodka or whatever) via our Everyday Hero Page (link below)

Our Everyday Hero Page

We will also be hosting an auction of beer related swag on the Saturday Evening, details of the lots will be published shortly. If you’d like to get involved please get in touch with us.

Thank you.

Thank you

Thank you

Now that the dust has settled (and i’ve got my college project in) from #BigBeeryNight16, I just wanted to take the chance to thank you all for your support.

Firstly, we raised for The Irish Cancer Society a whopping €2655.47 which is more than double last years amount. It just goes to show just how generous folk are, especially for a cause that has affected so many of us.

Our good friend in the UK, Steve Bentall of Hopinions and lots of the beer scene over there, reached their target of £5000 for MacMillan Nurses

I think it’s fair to say that the highlight was the Auction, and it was lots of fun for observers watching all the bids coming in especially in the last few minutes. It was tough to manage, but we’re already looking forward to next year. The bidding was fierce, and the final tally and amounts is here and there were several hotly contested items.

Thank you to all our Donors who gave some amazing prizes, these will be beginning to wing their way to the lucky winners this week. We apologise that we couldn’t take on more lots, but next year we will make the event bigger and better, so you’ll have to wait and see what we have planned.

Thank you to all the people who took part, and those who donated even when they didn’t win in the auction. You all deserve a massive round of applause. Thank you.

#BigBeeryNight16 – Ireland Edition

#BigBeeryNight16 – Ireland Edition

bigbeerynight_header_1-676x225

Friday the 11th of November, sees the return of Big Beery Night for the 2016 edition, last year our good friends the Beer O Clock Show raised £3128 for MacMillan Nurses, and we raised €1016 for the Irish Cancer Society. We’ll be donating to the Irish Cancer Society this year.

The premise is really quite simple. All of us have been touched by cancer in some way, whether it’s losing loved ones to this disease, or we know someone who’s battling it right now.

Most charity drives usually ask you to give up something for the sake of charity. We think that’s wrong, so all we ask is that on Friday the 11th, that you simply donate the price of your drink. Let’s flood social media with pictures of all the great drinks we’ll be having and use the hashtag #BigBeeryNight16

The beauty of this you can do it in the comfort of your own home, or wherever you might be.

You can donate here via Everyday Hero

We’ve set an initial target of €500, last year we comfortably beat this. Lets do it again.
